Keys to the Production Office is rounding out its 3rd year since publication! Authors Jennifer and Gilana exploded through the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2024 and were fortunate to have many opportunities to bring K2PO to even more audiences across the country. And so far, 2025 has started with a bang!
The summer of 2024 saw Jennifer and Gilana presenting to UFVA (University Film & Video Association) in Cleveland, Ohio, where they shared production office teaching tactics with film professors nationwide. In August, due to a high level of interest, they co-taught two simultaneous graduate level Production Management courses for Quinnipiac University. The seven-week course guided students through the set up, management, and foundations of a production office for feature films and television.

Additionally, Jennifer guest lectured K2PO related content for Ball State University department of Media, the University of Michigan College of LSA, Film, TV, Media, and Georgia Film Academy.
In October, Keys to the Production Office sponsored a unique panel during the 30th anniversary celebration of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, School of Filmmaking. The panel brought together, for the first time, all five of the School of Filmmaking’s current and past deans: Sam Grogg, Dale Pollock, Jordan Kerner, Susan Ruskin and Deborah LaVine. As alumni of the university, Jennifer and Gilana also produced the full weekend of anniversary celebration events as part of UNCSA’s Homecoming. (Side note: The school’s mascot is the Fighting Pickle, who is a character throughout K2PO!)
After a year of planning, K2PO had the privilege to present at the annual GEI (Group Effort Initiative) production bootcamp sponsored by Netflix in Los Angeles, California. This full day event included presentations and panels from industry heavyweights and a three-hour production office and career path workshop taught by Jennifer and Gilana to over 60 eager young filmmakers.

We closed out 2024 having presented to over 14 industry organizations and educational institutions, including Filmscape, Hobnobben Film Festival, Hub City Film Festival and even the Indiana local Hamilton East Public Library.
2025 has continued to gain momentum for K2PO, Jennifer taught a semester-long, 6-class series that applies K2PO practices and principals directly to pre-production of an independent feature film being produced by Huntington University. She presented three industry workshops at the Envision Film Festival for Taylor University, two more for the University of Michigan on Production Planning and Production Safety, and provided a production safety awareness presentation to local Indiana filmmakers.
Gilana guest lectured at the prestigious NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Kanbar Institute, offering her production management and production budgeting expertise emphasizing its foundation in the production office to undergraduates in the film & television program.
And this March Jennifer and Gilana taught their first 4-week online workshop for the Sundance Collaborative, covering the ins and outs of pre-production. The course expanded on existing K2PO content, providing next level learning. This may be a hint at what’s to come…look for our 2nd edition in 2026!
K2PO will be presenting a full weekend workshop and lecture series for SCAD this fall and are in talks with more Universities and industry organizations. K2PO was designed to make the industry more accessible and to bring awareness to the vital role of the Production Office!
